Looking at the old road, the old double white lines are still visible, and there are lots of patches covering up where the cats eyes used to be.

The road surface along half of the lay-by has been renewed at some point.

The space in between the old and new roads is now a car park and picnic area.

No signs of old markings on the resurfaced stretch.

It is clear to see where the road surface changes, and the old markings appear.

You get a sense of how narrow the old road was.

Plus there was quite a sharp, blind corner. You can see why this was bypassed.
