We've just come off the M4 at junction 24, we head along the new A48 Newport Southern Distributor road. This first section is an upgraded version of the A455.

Approaching the first roundabout for the Ringland estate. The main purpose of the road is to provide estates like this with quick access to the motorway network rather than taking through traffic around Newport - although it does make a great alternative to the congested M4.

Nearly all of the dualled sections have a 50 limit.

The road is actually pretty quiet - although I would have thought it could get busier during rush hour.
